Been a while since I’ve caught someone out of pocket — but the Daily Bracket App slipped up just a few too many times for me to ignore. I went through a phase in life when I first moved to LA where I would subscribe to any and all sports betting/fantasy sports websites that I possibly could. Most websites give you a free $5 to start with, so I would always try to turn that into my rent — Best app for this is Side League by the way.. However, one of my most favorite apps to play fantasy sports for money on was Daily Bracket. Basically what Daily Bracket does, is that it makes you pick the winner of 5 games each night — if you get at least 3 out of 5 correct, your streak continues. If you get a long enough streak, you can win some real money. Now I’m normally pretty good at detecting bull shit/fake apps, but Daily Bracket actually seemed really legit to me. They even deposited my $7 worth of earnings into my bank account when I cashed out. It really seems way more legit than Side League, or even apps like Fan Duel & Draft Kings.

HOWEVER

Daily Bracket has been pretty far out of pocket lately. I haven’t actually played in a while, but I’m on their emailing list, and I follow them on Twitter. Some of the things they post/email to me are inexplicable. For example, here’s an email I recently received from Daily Bracket. I guess they’re just going with the click bait strategy or something? But, regardless — this is super weird, and they should definitely have more responsible people in charge of their email account.

I mean really…. what could this be? Probably some spam from some website that someone sold my email address too right? Nope. It’s just Daily Bracket pretending to be Donald Trump in order to get more views I guess? Wtf is that? Not cool Daily Bracket. I actually respected you as a business and thought you were legitimate, but now I have no clue what to make of you. Here’s how the email looks when opened up.

Just super normal right? Looks exactly like the kinda email Daily Bracket should be sending out… But that I just can’t get passed that “Donald Trump – My Little Big Secret” headline. There’s no way a successful business has ever titled an email in this manner. WHAT ARE YOU DOING DAILY BRACKET?!?!?! WE NEED ANSWERS. Clearly you’re struggling and need more page views I guess. But resorting to Donald Trump click bait is the lowest of the lows. I’m sure you don’t feel good about yourselves for it either, but I just want to make sure you know how transparently desperate that looks.

Alright… so if that wasn’t bad enough — Daily Bracket has a Twitter account as well. As they should. Everyone should have Twitter and Facebook nowadays, that’s what life is about now. My problem is that Daily Bracked is balls deep into the meme game, and are in WAY over their heads. They have multiple memes, every day, all of which clearly took some time to make (I know because I’ve spent way to much time with this stuff myself). And I honestly can’t even decipher half of them. They’re total bananas They come from way out of left field. I have no clue what their points are. Like I don’t know if they’re political, if they’re just jokes, if they’re Illuminati related, or if someone is actually trying to make a real tangible point about something. Just take a look for yourself at some of these bonkers memes and you can make your own decision.

Am I missing something? Am I just not hip enough to understand this meme. Because I certainly have no idea what point Daily Bracket is trying to make here. Is this a Steve Kerr/Phil Jackson relationship thing? Seems like a bit of a stretch to me. What does Jordan have to do with any of this? Why is there a cat involved? Whatever. I don’t care. It’s all gravy. I fire off plenty of shitty tweets myself. Just gotta make sure they only happen every once in a while. Let’s check in on some of the points made by Daily Bracket in the past. In the name of fairness, we’ll check and see if they have any more reasonable tweets/memes…

I mean… I guess I get it, but is that supposed to be clever? This resembles what I imagine a kindergarten meme project would look like. All the effort put into this 4 part meme can be summed up into 4 words “Thunder lost, Warriors won” Not everything needs a meme. You really need to slow your roll Daily Bracket. You got a decent thing goin I think. I’m not sure why you insist on releasing these 6 year old level NBA memes every day, but whatever… Keep doin you DB

I understand how basic and cliche this question. But I seriously have to ask…. IS THIS REAL LIFE? I have no idea what anything in this meme has to do with anything else in this meme and my mind is in a bottle and I feel like I’m missing something. I swear tho, Daily Bracket is completely out of pocket. It’s like they have a 13 year old on meth in charge of their Twitter account. Don’t get me wrong, I love it — but it confuses the hell out of me on a daily basis. If anyone from Daily Bracket, or anyone else who knows more about Daily Bracket can fill me in on what’s going on here it would be much appreciated.
